Ms Letts, who currently works for paper mill Aylesford Newsprint, is due to join the company in April 2011. She has over twenty years of experience covering waste management, recycling and local authority roles and has also worked for Cory Environmental.

May Gurney said it prides itself of the quality of materials it collects through its preferred method of kerbside sorting, making the management of these materials very important.

This area has previously been handled on a part-time basis by May Gurneys commercial manager, Nicolas Francis.

May Gurney is currently lobbying for a statutory duty to be placed on councils to publish an end-use register revealing where all recyclable materials end us, similar to that pioneered by its local authority partner, the Somerset Waste Partnership.

Ms Letts has worked for Aylesford Newsprint since May 2010, when she joined the companys recycling department as an area/office manager responsible for supporting the mills recovered fibre suppliers in the south east.

At the time, the company commended her knowledge of waste procurement processes and reprocessing needs.
