Europe revises Animal By-Product Regulation

Defra is set to consult with the organics recycling sector on the newly developed Animal By-Product Regulation (ABPR) which was implemented by the EU on November 14.

The organisation is set to ask for feedback from the sector on the best way to implement the new regulations which set out the way animal by-product waste must be treated in order to ensure safety.

Jeremy Jacobs, managing director of the Association for Organics Recycling (AfOR), welcomed the new regulations and said that AfOR would be working with the Animal Health department at Defra to ensure the regulations are implemented in the best way for the organics sector.
