The Trust hopes to boost the number of applications after last year’s disappointing response returned only 45% of the 65% of bids it was aiming for.
EET, based in Chelmsford has a budget of 1 million sourced from landfill tax credits that it wishes to donate to environmental schemes across the county.
The Government is encouraging bodies such as EET to devote at least 65% of these funds for the promotion of sustainable waste management projects, which according to Ms Raynham, will, “target anything that reduces waste, especially innovative schemes such as last year’s nappy-recycling service.”
Part of Ms Raynham’s role will include searching for new markets for recycled goods, as well as creating recycling initiatives and “actively looking for other projects that help reduce waste going to landfill sites.”
Application forms, as well as advice on waste management projects, can be obtained from Liz Raynham on 01245 265555.
