Following valuable insights from the 2024 survey, which identified key industry concerns such as green skills gaps, offsetting transparency, and the slow pace of progress on net-zero, this year’s survey builds on those foundations with a broader, future-focused scope.
Exploring new priorities
The 2025 edition delves deeper into the challenges and innovations shaping the environmental services sector today. Participants will share their views on:
- The growing role of AI and digital innovation in sustainability
- Adoption of nature-based solutions
- Climate resilience and infrastructure adaptation
- Shifting perceptions of carbon offsetting and greenwashing
- Progress and hurdles in biodiversity net gain and supply chain sustainability
‘A powerful tool in shaping national policy’
Commenting on the 2025 survey, Rob Mowat, Managing Director of Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (the team responsible for delivering the annual initiative) said:
“Thanks to previous participants, this survey has become a powerful tool in shaping national policy and industry action. In 2025, we’re looking ahead to how innovation, resilience, and transparency will define the next chapter of environmental services in the UK.
“We urge professionals from all corners of the sector to contribute their voice to advance the UK’s environmental goals with real-world insight.”
Influencing national policy
As with previous editions, the results from the 2025 survey will be shared with the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Environment Agency, with the aim of informing future environmental policy in the UK.
