From Fenland recycling collections, 97% of the recycled materials – including recyclable plastics are processed here in the UK, supporting the UK circular economy. We regularly monitor details of where waste has been sent to for treatment and processing.
General waste goes to a Mechanical Biological Treatment facility for a 7-week sorting and treatment process to reduce the environmental impact of the waste prior to landfill.
We provide full documentation of waste carrier information and waste transfer notices keeping our local businesses, charities and schools compliant with the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
All proceeds made through your waste service will go to supporting local public services, and volunteering opportunities here, in Fenland.
Our trusted team of Getting It Sorted volunteers are also here to help spread recycling messages in your workplace too and we offer free staff recycling training for all customers.
