Bureau of International Recycling (BIR)

Founded in 1948, The Bureau of International Recycling was the first trade federation to support the interests of the recycling industry on an international scale. Today, BIR represents about 750 member companies from the private sector and 35 national associations in more than 70 countries, covering in particular ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steel & special alloys, paper, textiles, tyres/rubber and e-scrap. Together, these members form the largest international recycling federation.
