Local newspaper, the Plymouth Herald, reports a policeman on the scene as saying : “We think he was hitching his trailer up, but we are trying to investigate the full facts.”

The officer said that “Looking at the vehicle configuration it looks as though he has brought a trailer in to hitch it to the lorry.”

The police officer also said that: “It would appear the driver has attempted to stop the lorry rolling away, has fallen, and unfortunately he appears to have been run over by his own lorry.”
