The acquisition is the third purchase for the business in recent years, following the successful addition of the trade waste arm of Haulaway Ltd and Britaniacrest Recycling.

The Recycling Partnership was established in 2001 and claims to be one of the largest independent waste collection businesses in the South East.

The Sussex-based company operates depots in East and West Sussex offering commercial waste and recycling collections across Sussex and Surrey. The group operates a fleet of over 50 vehicles and a commercial waste site in Sussex, which is licensed to handle 260,000 tonnes of waste and recyclable material per year.

The Recycling Partnership operates alongside sister company, Cox Skips Ltd, and both are part of Cox Management Services Ltd.

 ‘Delighted’

Allan Brown, director at KSD, commented: “We are delighted to have agreed a sale of our commercial collections business to The Recycling Partnership and we will continue to focus on our core business within the Facilities Management Services market, skip hire and transfer station operation.”

Jason Taylor, Recycling Partnership commercial director, said: “The Recycling Partnership business continues to grow in line with our objectives and we are pleased to have reached agreement on this purchase which will further strengthen our operation and puts us firmly on the map as the South’s premier independent waste management service provider.

Acquisition

Commenting on the potential to acquire more businesses in the future, Mr Taylor told letsrecycle.com the group is “definitely in the acquisition market.”

He added: “We’ve adopted a programme of growth and we’re halfway through that at the moment, so we’re looking at further acquisitions in the coming two to three years.”

Mr Taylor said the skip hire business was doing well, adding: “Construction has been very buoyant in recent years and that certainly helps us.”

He also noted that the Group is hopeful of attracting a ‘significant’ local authority contract in the coming months.
