Shortage of recycled products sparks search for more goods

With the government set to unveil its Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) tomorrow, a reminder of how difficult it can be to source recycled products has been issued by recycledshop.com.

Mark Dutton, Sales and Marketing Manager at Recycled Products Limited of Gainsborough, which runs recycledshop.com, said: “We are desperate to get hold of products which are made out of recycled materials. It is incredibly difficult to find them and an absolute disgrace that they are not yet available.

“In this day and age with the government, Tony Blair and Michael Meacher championing green issues, you would expect many products to be available, but unfortunately, it is a struggle to find them.”
WRAP is expected to be formally launched in London tomorrow by Environment Minister Michael Meacher along with a DTI minister and chairman Vic Cocker.
The government sees the organisation as key to helping deliver the statutory targets in the waste strategy of achiving a 25% recycling rate by 2005.
