To run on 13-14 September 2023, the event will feature 6 dedicated conference theatres, with more than 200 speakers and an expected attendance of more than 12,000. The full agenda can be seen here.
Taking place at the NEC Birmingham, the free-to-attend event will be spread across 3 indoor halls and an added 10,000m2 of outdoor exhibition space. The show also runs alongside 3 co-located events, together forming the Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS), forming the UK’s largest event dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations and solutions in the fields of circular economy, net-zero emissions, sustainability and biodiversity conservation.

The first day will play host to a session on the impact of the Resources & Waste Strategy featuring Linda Crichton MBE, team leader for packaging producer responsibility at Defra.
There will also be a ‘leaders in resource management’ on day 1 of the show, featuring some of the t sector’s leaders, chaired by Gunnercooke LLP Partner, Dr Anna Willetts. The discussion will feature contributions from Gary Mayson, chief operating officer of Suez recycling and recovery UK, Mick Davis, Chief Operating Officer Resources & Energy at Biffa, Mike Maudsley, the CEO of Enfinium, and Grundon’s chairman, Neil Grundon.
Other standout sessions include those in the new ‘decarbonisation and future technologies theatre’, where some of the sector’s leading analysts will discuss how the UK can transition to a cleaner future.
The 35 under 35 winner will also be named on day 1.
Day two
During the shows’ second day, Jo Padwick, senior sustainability manager of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, will outline a sustainability action plan working towards the net zero challenge from a producer perspective. Jo Padwick’s team focuses on circular business models, reducing waste, and ensuring Coca-Cola’s packaging is collected, reused or recycled across the globe.
The day will also feature a keynote address from Natalie Fee, founder of City to Sea, an organisation dedicated to stopping plastic pollution. Natalie will be exploring how we can stop plastic pollution at source, and how small changes to our behaviour can make big impacts on the environment.
And, a presentation from environmental campaigner Tristram Stuart, who will look at the impacts of food waste, and what can be done differently.
The ESA, BMRA and Material Focus will also be looking at how the industry is tackling lithium battery fires.
