The waste management company will now operate fully under the Sortera name.

The acquisition was announced in July 2024 following a series of other purchases by the waste management company, including of O’Donovan Waste Disposal and GBN Services.

A spokesperson for Sortera said: “This integration milestone marks the full alignment of our teams, systems, and services.

“Together, we move forward under one banner, Sortera, with a shared commitment to raising the bar for sustainable construction waste management.

“Their official transition into Sortera expands our reach in the capital, adds capacity to our network, and reinforces our ability to deliver responsive, customer-focused service at scale.”

Reston is based in South London and brings its local knowledge and established infrastructure to the group.

The move marked Sortera’s 22nd acquisition since 2006, as it plans to continue driving a transition into a more circular construction waste economy across Northern Europe.

Andrew Reston, managing director and original owner of Reston Waste, said at the time of the original acquisition: “I am confident that Sortera is the best home for the business that we have built over the years and look forward to our joint future together.

“Sortera’s values are very similar to how we have run our business, especially with its focus on sustainability and customer satisfaction. This transaction ensures our legacy of excellence continues.”

The Sortera spokesperson added: “Together, we’re focused on delivering exceptional service, operating with integrity, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve.

“This marks not just a change in name, but a continued investment in the people, places, and partnerships that drive meaningful progress.”
