Recycleye opens Resource HQ

Recycleye has unveiled Resource HQ – it’s new facility which is set to house full-scale production of its AI-powered sorting system range.

Recycleye’s growth since 2019 has meant that its existing facility in Waterloo was over capacity for delivering customer orders and executing demonstration tests.

Having expanded into sectors such as WEEE and C&D sectors this year, the company’s operations required a new factory space to accommodate MRF simulation tests and larger scale manufacturing.

Recycleye invested in a 17,400 square foot site in Stratford, East London, and renovated the building make suitable for manufacturing machines that handle DMR, WEEE and C&D materials.

This marks a milestone in production capacity for the company, as the site is said to be more than seven times bigger than Recycleye’s former production facility.

Room for growth

Resource HQ includes a test centre to simulate real MRF conditions, so that recyclers can benchmark performance of Recycleye machines on their own material. It also houses manufacturing halls, in which the company’s production team assembles units to be shipped and installed to sorting facilities around Europe, as well as R&D facilities and offices for the team to continue developing intelligent sorting systems.

Having moved the company’s team of engineers and commercial managers to Resource HQ in May 2024, Victor Dewulf, CEO of Recycleye, said: “Launching Resource HQ marks the next step in delivering on our vision to make a meaningful contribution to the world’s recycling rate. It has already sparked increased collaboration within our teams and will facilitate limitless application tests for material recyclers around Europe on our machines. We look forward to welcoming more customers and partners to our new home soon.”
