Perrys Recycling gains ISO 9001 accreditation

Perrys Recycling, the Somerset-based recycler of paper and other materials, has gained ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and said that it hopes to expand the security destruction part of its business.

Perrys Recycling, which has recently celebrated its fortieth anniversary, said that to ensure customers have confidence in its service, it embarked on the “lengthy and intensive process” to gain ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification. The certification ensures that the company's recycling activities are carried out to a high standard.

With companies having to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, Perrys hopes that its service will provide a control policy for the management of information and secure disposal with a certificate of destruction issued to the customer at the end of the process.

The certificate provides confidence that every process is checked and is consistent with the Code of Practice set by the British Security Industry Association. Perrys has also invested in new machinery and provided a secure area to deal with destruction. All staff have also received training in the processes required to ensure their continued compliance with the certification.
