Ortec Group increases global operations

Ortec Group has acquired all of Englobe’s operations in the United Kingdom and France, as well as its soil and organic waste treatment operations in Canada and the United States.  

According to Ortec Group, 320 employees from Englobe’s operations will retain their jobs and join the global services division of Ortec Group.  

Ortec Group has said that this integration will be known as Biogénie, which has a revenue of over £103 million (180 million Canadian dollars). 

It operates soil treatment facilities, compost centres and reuse sites.  

Furthermore, the Ortec Group has highlighted that Biogénie will “bolster” its UK operations, with 100 employees based in the country. 

Position 

André Einaudi, chairman and chief executive officer of Ortec Group, said: “The expertise and assets of Biogénie, combined with the know-how of Ortec-Soléo, will position the Ortec Group among the world leaders in soil remediation. This key activity is at the heart of the environmental transition and decarbonisation, through the fight against land artificialisation. We are delighted with this new step and welcome all Biogénie employees.” 

‘Major player’ 

Alain Robichaud, responsible for Biogénie’s activities in North America and the UK, said: “By joining Ortec, Biogénie is integrating a major player in environmental services, which will promote sustainable growth. Having worked together in the past, we know Ortec’s in-depth expertise, their services complementing our own and the reputation for trust and innovation of this independent, family-owned group.” 

Sector 

The Ortec Group is a service provider operating in a range of industries including energy, mining, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, defence, railway, automotive, aeronautics, space and the public sector. It was founded 32 years ago and is headquartered in Aix-en-Provence, France.
