Mr Dyer died on Saturday 12 August 2017 at the age of 86.
His son, also Peter, recalls that his father had a long and successful career in the waste paper industry having been born in London and then moving to Bristol in 1964.
Peter Dyer (senior) played a major role in the Maybank days of the paper recycling industry setting up and running the South West division of the firm. Later as an independent, he was to found Failand Paper Services Ltd in 1983 where he served as chairman until his retirement in 1996. He was a long-standing member of the IWPPA (now the Recycling Association) and a past President.
His son said that his father, “enjoyed more than 20 years of retirement allowing him to pursue one of his great loves, the game of golf. He always said that although he wasn’t very good at it he enjoyed trying. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.”

Survived by his wife Penny, Daughter Bonnie and son Peter and four grandchildren, the funeral of Peter Dyer (senior) will will take place on 1 September 2017 with a memorial service at the Church of St Quiricus & St Julietta, Church Lane, Clevedon, Bristol followed by the Committal at South Bristol Crematorium.
A celebration of his long life and career will be held at The Long Ashton Golf Club after the Committal.
