The fire service says crews have stayed on the scene throughout the night and this morning, to dampen down the site on Goldicote Business Park, Banbury Road.
Fire control received the first report at 1.26pm yesterday (October 16) where a 30m x 30m building was found “well alight”, and the fire had spread to external storage. Eleven fire engines attended, along with specialist equipment including an aerial appliance.
As of this morning (17 October), two appliances remain on the scene along with the aerial appliance. The crews are working in four-hour shifts and have said they hope to have the site fully under control this afternoon.
As seen in the below video from the Stratford Herald, thick smoke could be seen coming from the site, as advice was given to residents to take care on the surrounding roads and to close windows/doors where there was smoke in the area.
The Fire Service says that until the fire is completely put out, it cannot be sure what started the blaze.
Commenting at the time of the fire, the services’ group commander, Neil McElvenny, said: “This is a large scale incident and there is smoke in the surrounding area, currently moving in a north easterly direction towards Wellesbourne and Loxley. We would advise motorists to take extra care and avoid the immediate area if possible.”
Warwickshire Police also attended the incident but said this was mainly to assist the fire service with things such as traffic management, and not as part of an investigation.
There have been no reports of any injuries.

JFC Plastics is an Irish-owned company and according to its website, it “designs, manufactures and sells plastic products globally for 4 market sectors” namely agriculture/equine, civils, marine and material handling.
JFC is one of the UK’s domestic plastic recyclers eligible to issue PRNs and the incident could therefore impact the market.
