Best known for its Niceday office stationary, Guilbert offers a recycled range and has shown commitment to several environmental schemes including London Remade.
Lorraine Thomas, national contracts director of Guilbert, said: “Guilbert UK has a long history of environmental innovation, driven by its belief in taking corporate responsibility for its activities.”
She added: “We have found that increasingly, our customers are becoming aware of recycled products and their benefits. London Remade is a pioneering and inspiring organisation that is really making a difference in this area and we are delighted to show our support.”
Hugh Carr-Harris, Chief Executive at London Remade said: “The issue of ‘buying recycled’ is moving up the corporate agenda and this demonstration of support from the private sector is exactly what’s needed to boost this development. Recycling will not work unless we’re able to create stable and viable markets for the materials that it produces.”
London Remade is currently carrying out an audit of recycled goods purchased under the Mayor of London's Green Procurement Code. Due out at the end of July, the report is expected to give information about the 14 million of products purchased under the scheme so far.
Education
London Remade has several other projects at the moment including a new web resource for secondary schools which it is launching this summer ready for the autumn term.
London Remade's partner in the online project is Global Action Plan which will be offering support to 10 London schools using the educational resource. Capitalwastelearning.com offers lessons, class activities and homework assignments for subjects including English, design and technology, geography and maths.
