London Bridge-based Green-Works is a nationwide charity which offers reclaimed furniture for sale to charities, schools, community groups and start-up businesses at reduced prices.

In partnership with Central London-based ad agency Satellite, Green Works is aiming to attract new members to its scheme with additional promotions aimed at schools. Satellite will be launching the campaign on behalf of Green-Works.
The scheme will run in several phases, the first phase will consist of direct mail and inserts supported by press, targeting schools to encourage take-up of the furniture.
Modern furniture, including MDF and chip-board, is considered difficult to recycle and re-use is seen as the primary option of keeping the materials out of landfill.

Commenting on the work, Iain Patton – managing director of Satellite – said: “Millions of tonnes of office furniture are needlessly thrown away every year, most of it ending up in landfill sites and there's often nothing wrong with it. Green-Works have an important message which needs communicating.”
“As corporate and social responsibility becomes higher up on both the political and social agenda, organisations such as Green-Works will be leading the way. The new campaign will position them at the forefront of sustainability and social enterprise in the UK helping to combat climate change and allow companies to meet their environmental and social agendas,” he added.
Green Works was established to provide businesses with a practical service to remove redundant office equipment as well as helping local community groups. It has seven warehouses across the UK.
