In a statement issued today (June 7), the company said that it had been acquired by UK-based ECI Partners for an undisclosed sum.
ECI is backing a new management team which includes Ross Ancell as chairman. Mr Ancell, a former chairman of the Environmental Services Association, has signficant knowledge of the waste sector from running Churngold Holdings, most of which was sold to Viridor Waste Management for 19 million in 2003. Chief executive will be Peter Selkirk, a former chief executive of Texon.
Grandson
Alden Taylor, grandson of the founder of the company, is remaining with the business as operations director. The current executive managers, Adair, Anton and Alston Taylor will act as consultants to the new management team.

ECI Partners, founded in 1976, describes itself as “one of the longest established private equity groups in the UK” and it invested in the environmental consultancy, Enviros in 2002. .
Since it was founded in 1962, Taylor has grown to become a well-known face within waste management products. It estimates that its steel ‘Continental’ trade container, has around 40% share of the overall trade container market.
Strong
The Taylor brothers Adair, Anton and Alston commented:
