Part of the TV rentals group Boxclever, the German parent company WestLB put Endeva and seven other group companies into administrative receivership in September 2003 following financial difficulties (see letsrecycle.com story).
Services continued as receivers PricewaterhouseCoopers carried out a restructuring of the business, but it was not known how the receivership of one of Transform's founding organisations would affect the WEEE collection scheme.
In a statement to letsrecycle.com, a spokesman for Endeva said that it was business as usual for the company, including its role in Transform.
The spokesman said: “As part of the Boxclever group, Endeva will continue to supply their fulfilment and repair services to Boxclever, who in turn are still supplying their customers with product and associated services. Whilst in administrative receivership, working closely with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Endeva senior management are formulating a new business plan and it is very much business as usual with all clients. During this review period, Endeva is continuing to play a full and active part in Transform's activities.”
Transform's other two founding companies are Biffa Waste Services and European Metal Recycling. The scheme is preparing the way for the collection of appliances from the commercial and household sector under the requirements of the forthcoming UK implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive.
