Winners are due to be announced at a celebratory luncheon and Awards Ceremony on 19 May at the Landmark Hotel, London.
Launched in 2004, the Awards organised by letsrecycle.com reward innovation, dedication and success within the waste and recycling industries.
Judges
This year’s expert judging panel included: Sally Talbot vice chair, LARAC; Linda Crichton, head of collections & quality programme, WRAP; Simon Ellin, Recycling Association chief executive; Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com; Samantha Sen, policy advisor, British Council of Shopping Centres; Toni Waters, communications and membership officer, Environmental Services Association; Nigel Harvey, chief executive, Recolight; and, Helen Middleton, market development manager, Furniture Reuse Network.
2016 saw a high level of quality entries and judges were keen to highlight the overall high quality of the competing entries.
Praise
Steve Eminton said: “It is encouraging to see so many businesses taking their responsibility to recycle seriously, through some really positive initiatives including great involvement of staff.
“We were also impressed with the standard of entries from local authorities, who continue to do a terrific job in encouraging the public to recycle, despite severe budget challenges.”
Tickets to attend the prestigious event are still available, and can be purchased via http://www.awardsforexcellence.co.uk/.
