Ash Marsden appointed as Commercial Director of CIRQLR
Business recycling group CIRQLR has appointed Ash Marsden as Commercial Director, strengthening its senior leadership team.
With over 13 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry, Marsden has worked with businesses across sectors including retail, hospitality, facilities management and construction.
His experience spans national account management and supply chain efficiency, following senior roles at Veolia, Novati and Enva.
Marsden said: “Aligning the business objectives of our industrial customers to their need to maximise recycling and eliminate waste safely and securely is at the heart of what makes us commercial partners and not merely waste operators. I’m delighted to have joined CIRQLR at such a pivotal moment of growth.”

Alutrade appoints new Joint Managing Directors as founder steps back after 38 years
Aluminium recycler Alutrade has announced a leadership transition following the decision of long-serving Managing Director Malcolm George to step down after nearly four decades leading the family-run business.
George said: “This is the right time for me to take a step back from day-to-day operations and focus more on my family. However, I will remain in close contact with everyone. Alutrade has been my life’s work, and I will always want the very best for the company.
“I look forward to seeing the exciting plans and opportunities that lie ahead. The company is in an extremely strong position, and I can’t wait to watch how the next 38 years unfold.”
The company will now be jointly led by Mike George, Malcolm’s nephew who has worked at Alutrade for 20 years, and Kevin Pugh, Production Director for the past seven years.

Hills Waste Solutions increases manufacturing focus under new divisional director
Hills Waste Solutions has announced the appointment of Divisional Director Caroline Wilde, to support the company’s renewed focus on aiding manufacturing businesses across the Southwest.
Wilde plans to raise awareness of Hills’ tailored services for the sector, including specialist recycling, compliance management, rapid-response support and live data reporting.
In her previous role, Wilde helped manage waste and recycling services for Honda’s former Swindon plant.
Wilde commented: “Manufacturing waste requires a different level of expertise and flexibility.
“Hills has always offered these services, but many businesses don’t realise just how much we can do to help them.

Boughton Engineering expands sales team with Regional Sales Manager
Boughton Engineering, manufacturer of hook loaders, skip loaders and close-coupled trailers, has appointed Nick Robinson as Regional Sales Manager.
Robinson joined from Hillend Engineering and has brought experience from senior roles at Refuse Vehicle Solutions and Terberg Matec UK.
Robinson said: “I’m delighted to join Boughton Engineering, a UK manufacturer with such a strong brand and reputation.
“I’m looking forward to getting out on the road, meeting with existing customers, and bringing new ones on board so they can benefit from our outstanding reliability and service levels.”
In his new role, Robinson will focus on expanding Boughton’s customer base and promoting its range of waste collection vehicles.

Clearpoint Operations Director takes seat on Recycling Association council
The Recycling Association has appointed Sarah Sanpher-McDowell, Operations Director at Clearpoint Recycling, to its governing council in the plastics seat.
Bringing over 15 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry, including 12 years at Clearpoint, Sanpher-McDowell has taken up the role following the resignation of Paul Barnes, who stepped down after relocating to Australia.
She will serve until May 2026 and is expected to stand for full election at the next Annual General Meeting.
Paul Sanderson, Chief Executive of the Recycling Association, said: “The Council was keen to welcome Sarah due to her extensive knowledge of plastic recycling and best practice across materials.”
Sanpher-McDowell added: “I’m honoured to join the Council at such a pivotal time. Plastics recycling is in the spotlight, and I’m eager to bring a practical, solutions-driven perspective to help shape the industry’s future.”
