Boughton adds service & parts manager
Boughton Engineering has appointed John Jennings as its new service & parts manager.

Mr Jennings brings a “wealth of knowledge and experience of the waste, specialist equipment and OE truck sectors”, having worked most recently for a municipal contractor and in prior roles at two commercial vehicle and equipment manufacturers.
Mr Jennings is also a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and will join Boughton’s HQ in Wolverhampton.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I look forward to building further on the good order in which my predecessor left Boughton’s service and parts operation and taking it forward to the next level, in line with its continued growth and future plans.”
Skan Group sales & marketing director, Steve Price, added: “Boughton has been achieving record growth year on year and sustaining that demands parallel progress in all aftermarket functions.”
BIR appoints plastics committee chairman
Henk Alssema, of Vita Plastics in the Netherlands, has been appointed as the Bureau of International Recycling’s plastics committee chairman.

Mr Alssema has been active in plastics recycling since 1994, successfully starting up a number of plastics recycling companies and restructuring a public listed company as their CEO.
He is currently chairman of Vita Plastics where he is focused on developing a completely new vision in the area of the circular economy that is centred on multiple value creation.
Commenting on the appointment, BIR president Ranjit Baxi said: “I am pleased to welcome Henk as Chairman of the BIR Plastics Committee and strongly believe that both BIR and the plastics recycling industry will greatly benefit from his vision, leadership and industry experience of nearly 25 years that he brings with him.”
MVV appoints joint managing director
The managing board of UK Energy from Waste company MVV Environment Ltd has appointed Mike Turner as joint managing director.
Mr Turner will be responsible for waste resources, finance, commercial issues and IT, has been part of the UK waste industry for almost 30 years. Most recently, he spent 17 years at Renewi, leaving as UK PFI director.
In his new role, he will complement the existing joint managing directors; Uwe Zickert (technical) and Paul Carey (business development and external relations).
Commenting on the role, Mr Turner said: “MVV, in the ten years they have been active in the UK market, have made themselves a name as a company with an energy focus, operations on a large scale and a wealth of experience, and as a result, a strong business model. I am looking forward to being part of the success story and helping MVV improve and develop new opportunities.”
