We’re seeking an experienced and driven Project Consultant to take ownership of a high-value, strategically important infrastructure project within the waste and recycling sector. This is a unique opportunity to lead from the front—guiding a major development from initial concept to full operational readiness.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the creation of a new waste and recycling transfer station, managing all aspects from site planning and permitting, through to infrastructure, supplier engagement, and final delivery. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants, your expertise will be crucial to ensuring the project is delivered on time, on budget, and in line with regulatory expectations.
This is a high-impact, standalone role with genuine responsibility and autonomy. If you’re ready to lead a pivotal project in the environmental sector, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial planning to completion
- Manage budgets and timelines, reporting and liaising with senior stakeholders, directors and budget holders
- Liaise with planning and permit consultants, suppliers, local authorities, and regulatory bodies to deliver a successful project
- Maintain strict confidentiality throughout all project phases
About You:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, ideally in the waste and recycling industry (strongly preferred)
- Proven track record in managing complex infrastructure projects
- Confident operating at a senior/managerial level
- Based in the Southeast (or with the ability to travel as needed)
Hours: 24 hours (3 days) per week maximum
Contract: Fixed term / Project based
Salary: £400 day rate
