Do you want to lead, manage and motivate a team to be their best and do their best for the environment? This exciting permanent role will provide line management and leadership to a project team regulating waste Brokers and Dealers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, to join our team in Waste Industry Regulatory Services (WIRS).

You will need to be adaptable so you can build an efficient, knowledgeable and diverse team. You will provide essential leadership to officers and technical leads to drive and deliver our work. You will be flexible and responsive in times of change.

You should expect to deliver a wide range of work through your team. However, you will not need to be a technical expert. A basic working knowledge of the waste industry or regulation will be advantageous, but this can be developed once you are in the role.

The most important thing is your ability to connect with people, supporting them with the leadership they need to be their best.

The team

The post sits within a new Brokers Auditing Team, in Waste Industry Regulatory Services (WIRS), in National Operations. We are building a high performing team that delivers priority technical work, regulating industry, providing intelligence to the Carriers Brokers & Dealers regime and other waste regulation teams.

Experience/skills required
You should have the ability to represent your team without being a subject expert, to bring together and motivate team members to do their best for the environment and the wider team. You will be a fantastic role model as a leader within your team and wider department.

Additional useful information

Office base is flexible. You will need to be comfortable with working in a dispersed team. The role will require travel to London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Bristol and other locations.
