Are you an experienced administrator? Do you possess excellent project support skills?  Do you want to be part of our friendly and innovative team that is set to deliver an exciting new waste project?

Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority is seeking the services of a Project Support Officer to assist with a significant stage in its development. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this will be a crucial role in supporting our future waste services procurement programme.

Key areas of work will include implementing and maintaining appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling of project activities; establishing and maintaining project controls; preparing project performance reports; presenting statistics; and researching new information.

 About You

  • You will have a sound knowledge of all relevant IT applications including Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • You will possess a professional and personable demeanour, with the ability to navigate between competing priorities.
  • You will be a diligent operator and effective communicator.
  • You will already possess or be keen to acquire a well-rounded knowledge upon the ever-developing waste sector.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Previous experience working as a member of a large project team, or a project manager for a small, low complexity project.
  • Previous experience of monitoring resources and budgets.
  • Previous experience of creating and maintaining project or programme delivery plans, so that delivery, progress, costs and benefits can be identified and managed.
  • Previous experience of building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as project managers and business owners; including the identification of risks, issues and dependencies and seeking agreements/trade-offs to keep delivery on track.
