About the role
This is an exciting new role within the Waste and Circular Economy team at Oxfordshire County Council, one of the best performing waste disposal authorities. The role is focused on all aspects of the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) services from managing the service and the contracts and leading the transition to a circular economy to managing the assets.
This is a key management role within the broader Waste and Circular Economy Team focused on managing household waste across the county, delivering statutory waste disposal duties, as well as developing and delivering a long-term strategy for a sustainable HWRC service that continues to provide excellent value-for-money while transitioning to a circular economy system in Oxfordshire.
We are looking for an individual with experience of Household Waste Recycling Centre services, ideally from a public sector perspective. Project management and procurement skills will be required, as well as experience and knowledge of waste contracts. We are looking for a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills; someone able to work closely with the HWRC Contractor and deliver a service that continues to meet the expectations of Oxfordshire residents
