Are you a driven sales professional with a proven track record in securing hazardous or clinical waste services? You’ll need (ideally) a minimum HNC in an Environmental or Science subject (technical knowledge is essential to assess jobs and advise customers) to succeed in this exciting role that combines developing new business with account management. As Business Development Executive, you will join a small and dynamic team at our Knowl Hill office, between Reading and Maidenhead, and cover our predominantly Thames Valley operating area. We’re offering a competitive salary and host of great benefits, including:

The Business Development Executive role

Every day, healthcare providers including hospitals, care homes, dentists, vets and labs have to dispose of potentially infectious hazardous or low-level radioactive clinical waste, a job that requires specialist handling by experts – Grundon!

We operate our own industry-leading treatment and disposal facilities, including energy from waste, steam sterilisation and the UK’s most modern high-temperature incinerator. We’re proud that our clinical waste customers have won awards for best practice.

What you’ll be doing as Business Development Manager

– Communicating and developing relationships with existing customers to help grow the business

– Supporting existing contracts

– Identifying new customers (including of our other hazardous waste services) from a diverse range of industry sectors

– Collating and managing sales enquiries information, ensuring it satisfies pre-acceptance regulatory requirements

– Undertaking site visits to thoroughly assess and quote for jobs and projects

What we are looking for in our Business Development Executive

– You’re pro-active, with a proven track record of negotiating and closing deals

– Experience of hazardous waste sales/hazardous waste industry

– Ability to work within a team and on own initiative

– Confident communicator on different levels, with a professional phone manner and ability to listen.

– Comfortable selling to all levels, from board room to shop floor, and adept at adjusting sales accordingly.

– Competent computer skills, including social media.

Working hours: 35 per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
