Slicker Recycling, formerly Hydrodec UK/OSS Group, has purchased the company from the Avanti Group in a bid to extend the ‘non-oil side’ of its business.
Branding itself as one of the UK’s most advanced environmental waste management and industrial cleaning companies, John Rome offers specialist washing and maintenance of interceptors and vehicles.
All services offered by John Rome will now be provided under the Slicker Recycling brand as a ‘direct package’ alongside its oil recycling and workshop waste collections. In addition to linking with oil and waste collection, the cleaning and maintenance services for drainage systems, interceptors and vehicle washes will be available separately.
Waste
Slicker Recycling managing director, Mark Olpin, said: “This is in line with our long term plan to extend the non-oil side of our business and move towards a wider total waste management offering.
“We can now have a full environmental and waste package for the auto and commercial vehicle market. In addition to our nationwide oil recycling and workshop waste collections we can provide specialist interceptor and vehicle wash cleaning and maintenance.”
He added: “John Rome are leaders in interceptor and car wash environmental services and we have worked with this company extensively in the past on a sub-contract basis. Now they are part of Slicker Recycling we can provide a direct, complete package.”
Betfair
Slicker Recycling was launched following the acquisition of Hydrodec UK/OSS Group by Andrew Black in November – the entrepreneur behind online bettering service Betfair.
The company specialises in collection of waste oil from automotive and the general engine servicing industry, as well as hazardous workshop wastes such as oil filters and batteries. The company plans to build a UK-based oil re-refinery, which will turn the waste product back into a lubricant.
