The Irish-owned waste firm’s VR education course is based on the dry mixed recycling and plastic recycling recovery facility in Barkston.
The VR tour enables the user to “free tour or complete the in-built education challenge”, presenting them with real-life footage and a completion certificate at the end.
Beauparc was invited to the Houses of Parliament to present the project to the resources and waste minister Jo Churchill and the minister for schools Robin Walker among others.
The solution is said to “answer many of the questions currently fielded through the constituency offices from schools and colleges relating to sustainability”.
Project
The company said that the project was developed to address the limitations of video calls in learning implemented during the pandemic, which “lacked an element of scale and visualisation”.
The education tour demonstrates the technology used to extract material and its onward journey back into the manufacturing chain.
According to Beauparc, it “was noted how this solution would answer many of the questions that are currently fielded through their constituency offices from schools and colleges relating to sustainability”.
Additionally, according to the company, the technology now lends itself to other areas of the business such as recruitment, new starter onboarding, health and safety and hazardous awareness and perception.
The VR education course is now available throughout the UK.
