Global retailer installs packaging management software

Global retailer Laura Ashley is installing packaging waste management software to help it meet its packaging waste obligations.

Laura Ashley is installing software package Packtrak at its administrative centre in mid-Wales. The move will allow the retailer to put in place an infrastructure to meet its long-term packaging waste obligations.

Rob Lambie, group risk manager at Laura Ashley, said: “With targets for packaging waste recycling and recovery escalating across the world, it was imperative that we found a cost effective way of dealing with our compliance obligations across the nine countries that we operate in.”

Foresite Systems is the developer and supplier of PackTrak, which is a software package that enables companies to comply with both UK and worldwide packaging regulations. Graham Margetson, director of Foresite Systems, said: “Laura Ashley is a resounding British success story. Through our PackTrak system, we aim to support its overseas expansion by assisting in containing its waste management costs, both in the UK and on the international stage. We are delighted to be working with the team at Laura Ashley.”
