ReCover Paper, formerly operating as Environmental Services, has been integrated into the wider ReCover recycling label.
The division processes around 10,000 tonnes of waste each year and manages waste from Coveris’ UK label and cartonboard manufacturing sites. It also oversees recycling partnerships across the company’s supply chain.
Adam Robinson, Head of Sustainability at Coveris’ Paper Business Unit, commented: “Integrating ReCover Paper reflects our aim to create a unified, visible recycling platform across our business.
“ReCover Paper is vital to improving our own sustainability performance, while also delivering an industry-leading recycling service for our customers.”
Paper-to-paper recycling
A core focus of ReCover Paper is its paper-to-paper recycling service for self-adhesive label release liners, delivered through Coveris’ RafCycle partnership with UPM Adhesive Materials.
Since launching in 2024, the scheme has recycled more than 400 tonnes of paper release liner from Coveris’ sites and its customers.
The facility also incorporates patented delamination technology, which processes reels of redundant self-adhesive paper labels sourced from both Coveris and its partners.
The system separates the label facestock from the release liner.
In addition to paper liners, ReCover Paper handles a range of other recyclable materials, including label cores, redundant linerless label stock, cardboard and transit films.
Robinson added: “Through our No Waste model and collaboration with the supply chain through partnerships like RafCycle and our membership with CELAB, we are reducing environmental impact and advancing circularity across the sector.”
