The Gateways project has been running since August 2024 and will finish at the end of March this year.
The project involved litter-picking, removing fly-tipped waste, removing and cleaning central reservations and clearing overgrown vegetation from pavements.
Local residents are said to have gone outside to give workers refreshments and biscuits, demonstrating the sense of community felt as a result of the clean-up.
‘Hard work’
Sarah Ferriby, portfolio holder for healthy people and healthy places at Bradford city council, said: “The results of this work are fantastic, and in some cases, they have widened pavements and footpaths, making them safer for people to use and made areas cleaner and tidier. Well done to everyone involved for all their hard work.”
The funding has resulted in additional resources being added to programmed works within the area.
