Myles Kitcher becomes chair of decarbonisation initiative

Net Zero North West (NZNW), an industrial decarbonisation initiative, has announced the appointment of managing director of Peel NRE Myles Kitcher as its new chair.

NZNW said it serves as a vital public and private sector investment accelerator, driving efforts to achieve the North West’s ambitious decarbonisation net zero goal by 2040. With projected spending of £206.9 billion, the cluster aims to reduce carbon dioxide equivalent emissions by 38.5 million tonnes. These efforts are hoped to not only contribute to a cleaner environment but also boost sustainable economic growth in the region.

The initiative explained that Mr Kitcher’s expertise in leading environmental initiatives will be “instrumental in forging partnerships, engaging stakeholders, and guiding the cluster towards a cleaner, greener future for the North West and the wider UK”.
