The investment, equivalent to $27 million (€23 million), was led by technology investor Omar Mir and follows a milestone for the company after its artificial intelligence systems detected more than one trillion waste objects.
Greyparrot said it plans to use the funding to scale its technology with the aim of helping to abate more than one million tonnes of waste by 2030.

The investment comes as the waste and packaging sectors face increasing pressure to improve material recovery, demonstrate regulatory compliance and provide more reliable data on waste flows.
Greyparrot’s AI camera systems, known as Analysers, are installed above sorting belts at recycling facilities in more than 20 countries.
The systems identify materials, products and brands in real time, providing operators with continuous data on the composition and movement of waste through their facilities.
The technology can classify materials across 111 categories and identify packaging formats and brands at industrial scale.
The data collected by the Analysers also underpins Greyparrot’s Deepnest analytics platform, which is designed to give brands and packaging producers greater visibility of how their products move through the waste system after disposal.
Waste and recycling companies including WM, Circular Services, Veolia, Biffa and FCC have used the technology to improve recovery rates, monitor material quality and increase operational efficiency.
Greyparrot said continuous, shift-by-shift monitoring can replace periodic manual sampling, helping operators improve material yields, strengthen audit and compliance reporting, and respond more quickly to changing waste streams.
Greyparrot’s Analyser was named one of TIME magazine’s Best Inventions of 2025.
