Attero adds two board members

Attero has announced the appointment of Louis Calders and Martin Graves as commercial director and logistics & operations director respectively.
The pair have joined the board at the Doncaster-based recycling company and have a combined total of more than 30 years’ experience in the industry.
Mr Calders joins Attero following more than 25 years’ experience in the European waste derived fuels market. He acted as commercial director of an alternative fuels export business where he was responsible establishing fully managed international SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) and RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) off-take solutions.
In a statement released by Attero, Mr Graves was described as “one of the UK’s leading authorities on terminal and port logistics.” The logistics & operations director began his career in the British military before going on to hold senior roles at DFDS, where he held the same role.
The pair will join the approximate 70 employees already at the company, which say it processes over 250,000 tonnes of waste a year.
Mark Lyndon appoints quality manager

Mark Lyndon Paper Enterprises has announced the appointment of Mike Challans as quality manager for the UK & Ireland.
The company explained that in recent months, the critical importance of quality of paper for recycling being shipped to China has seen their number of quality inspectors in the UK and Ireland increase. Therefore, a need for a senior role was created.
Mr Challans will also cover several business improvement measures including health and safety, ISO compliance and system innovation.
Colin Clarke, Mark Lyndon’s UK managing director commented: “Mike’s been in the recycling industry for nearly 20 years in various roles within UK paper mill groups. This in-depth knowledge of what ‘good quality’ OCC and Mixed Paper should look like, will help drive our goal of being at the forefront of the industry in these testing times”.
NRW chief executive starts today
Natural Resources Wales’ (NRW) new chief executive Clare Pillman will begin her role as chief executive this week.

Ms Pillman was previously director for culture, tourism and sport at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in Westminster. She takes over from Emyr Roberts, who is retiring. Her appointment was announced late last year.
In a blog post on the Welsh Government body website, Ms Pillman said she feels “extremely lucky” to be taking up the role and looks forward to starting at an “important time”.
She said: “A lot has been achieved in the last five years, creating a new organisation from scratch and doing such important work every day. It’s an important time for the organisation and for the environment we care so much about. The challenges are real: climate change, biodiversity in decline and increasing pressures on our natural environment.”
NRW was set up in 2013 and is a merger of three environmental bodies – the Environment Agency, Countryside Council for Wales and Forestry Commission Wales.
