The contract is worth £1.4 million a year and covers the collection and disposal of waste.
The procurement was lead by Northumbria Police on behalf of the following collaborative partners: Durham Constabulary, Cleveland Police, North East Ambulance Service and Cleveland Fire Brigade.
Northumbria Police outlined that it was seeking a partner to not not only remove waste from its sites but also focus on helping them to “increase recycling levels, sustainable practices and embed best practice when it comes to waste”.
The contract will run for an initial 12 months with the option of a one year extension.

“With over 400 containers already mobilised across the region in recent weeks, we are dedicated to delivering essential waste solutions to the Emergency Services in the North East and strengthening our collaborative partnership.”
