Councillor Jacob Cable appointed Chair of North London Waste Authority

Councillor Jacob Cable has been appointed Chair of the North London Waste Authority (NLWA).
Cable, a Green Party councillor from the London Borough of Hackney, was elected at NLWA’s AGM on 25 June following a vote by Members.
He succeeds Clyde Loakes in leading the public body responsible for managing waste and recycling services for around two million residents across seven north London boroughs.
A Cabinet Member for Climate, Clean Air and Transport in Hackney, Cable will now oversee the authority’s strategic direction alongside NLWA’s 14 elected Members.
He said: “I am honoured to have been elected Chair of NLWA. My objective is to lead NLWA in an open and participatory way and ensure that we work to reduce waste in all its forms.”
Councillor Madeline Church and Councillor Peter Zinkin were also elected as Vice-Chairs.
Bristol Waste names Rob Heath as Managing Director

Bristol Waste Company has appointed Rob Heath as its new Managing Director, with the role set to begin in September.
Heath joins the business with almost 40 years of experience in the waste management and environmental services sector.
Having worked across all levels of the industry, from frontline collections to senior management, he will now lead the council-owned company into its next phase of development.
Bristol Waste said Heath’s appointment reflects its commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable services for residents across the city.
Heath said: “Having worked across all levels of environmental services, from driving – almost 40 years ago – to directing operations, I know how vital our frontline work is to local communities.
“I look forward to working closely with Bristol City Council and building on Bristol’s innovative attitude towards sustainability.”
Clearpoint Recycling strengthens leadership team with senior appointments

Clearpoint Recycling has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointments of Neil Campbell as UK and European Sales Director and David Earle as Strategic Account Director.
Campbell joins with more than 15 years of senior leadership and board-level experience, having spent the past three years in the B2B sustainability sector.
In his new role, he will lead Clearpoint’s UK and European sales strategy, focusing on growing its European operation and increasing global buying power.
Earle brings more than 35 years of international commercial experience, including senior roles at Unilever, Tetra Pak and SIG Combibloc.
He will focus on developing strategic customer partnerships and supporting businesses transitioning to circular packaging models.

HAHN Plastics UK appoints new Facilities Manager

HAHN Plastics UK has appointed Steven Sankey as Facilities Manager as part of its ongoing multi-million-pound investment to modernise its UK operations.
Sankey joins the Greater Manchester-based manufacturer with more than 25 years of experience in facilities management, site operations and health and safety across the manufacturing sector.

“There is a great opportunity to build on the progress already being made as we continue to modernise the operation and prepare for the future.”
In his new role, Sankey will lead HPUK’s internal facilities team, oversee contractors across the site and support the management and improvement of day-to-day operations.
Working alongside the senior leadership team, Sankey will also play a key role in the company’s wider investment programme, including implementing digital systems to improve processes and modernise the working environment.
Christopher Pickhardt takes over as Global Sales Director at Ecotec

Ecotec has appointed Christopher Pickhardt as Global Sales Director as the company continues its international expansion following the launch of its new brand identity.
Pickhardt joins the business with extensive experience in the recycling technology sector, most recently serving as President of North American operations within the industry.
He has also held regional sales leadership roles across international recycling and environmental markets.
In his new position, Pickhardt will oversee all global sales activities and lead Ecotec’s regional sales teams worldwide.
Pickhardt commented: “I am pleased to be joining Ecotec at such a pivotal stage in its development and look forward to supporting customers across all core markets.
“I look forward to working with the global team and our distributors to continue building on that foundation and supporting customers across all core markets.”
