The Wood Recyclers Association which represents 78 companies in the wood recycling sector – is holding a one-day event at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull on November 1st to mark its tenth anniversary.

The announcement comes justa month and a halfafter the government committed to consulting on restricting waste wood from landfill (see letsrecycle.com story) and will provide the perfect opportunity for delegates to explore what this will mean on the ground. It is also the first event of its kind for the wood recycling sector.
Confirmed speakers include Mat Crocker, head of waste at the Environment Agency; Neil Bailey, UK head of biomass management at RWE npower renewables; and, Lauma Kazusa from consultancy Pyry.
Competition for material between the biomass and panel board sector, efforts to assess the carbon benefits of recycling waste wood and government and regulator priorities are among the topics which will be discussed.
Organised by letsrecycle.com, the event will bring WRA members, board mills, recyclers, local authorities and the community sector together to discuss these crucial issues and celebrate achievements to date.

Entries are being invited for the awards, which will be presented after an anniversary lunch. The awards categories are:

- Site Manager of the Year
- Energy Development of the Year
- Quality Product of the Year
