SITA closes northern tendering unit

Major changes to SITA's operating structure in the UK have been made as part of a continuing rationalisation process.

The largest of these sees the closure of the former United Waste Services tendering team which operated mainly in the north-west and north-east of England.

Spokesman Achilleas Georgiou said: “Following the combining of SITA and United Waste Services there were two complete tendering teams. Now these have been rationalised which is quite a normal feature of when businesses are brought together.”

The rationalisation has also seen top level changes at SITA's AJ Bull operation. And, an announcement of further changes within SITA concering United Waste Services, including Lancashire Waste Services, is thought to be imminent.
