CARS – the Complete Auto Recycling & Secondary Materials Show – the dedicated trade event for the end of life vehicles sector returns on 13-14 July, at Donington Park Circuit in Derby, and this year is being staged alongside the Metals Recycling Event aimed at the scrap sector. Both events are supported by headline partner JCB.

The show comes at a crucial time for the sector, with recent turbulence in scrap metal markets having caused some concern within the wider metals recycling industry and the dedicated two-day conference programme will shine a spotlight on the market domestically and overseas.

Developments in the processing of shredder residues – the plastic, foam, textiles and wood left over at the end of the ELV recycling process – will also be among the topics on the agenda for conference sessions at the two-day event with Roger Morton, director of Axion due to speak on the recovery of materials.

Speakers from the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), CarTakeBack and Dismantling Solutions are also on the conference bill, to offer updates on legislation, technology and markets.

Visitors will also be able to visit the Skills Lab and enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Gala dinner.

There will also be showcase presentations from Redwave XRF and the Blue Group.
