Summer isn’t the same without taking pictures of those recycling bins, boxes and vehicles when you are on holiday in the UK or abroad.
This year, for our summer competition, letsrecycle.com is inviting you to send in a “Summer Recycling Selfie” – up to three pictures of you or a family member with some bins, by a recycling vehicle, at an overseas CA sites or in another recycling/waste scene. Of course, health and safety consideration is a must so no risks should be taken – standing on the rear of RCVs in Spain will not win a prize!
The competition is being run in partnership with logistics and recycling services provider DHL Envirosolutions and Karl Greig, the company’s head of operations, said he was looking forward to seeing the summer snaps.
Exotic
Mr Greig said: “I think it’s true. Everyone in waste and recycling looks out for the sector on holidays. We have all taken pictures of recycling bins in exotic places so I think the selfie idea will give an added dimension. Let’s have pictures from all those exciting destinations we all head to – and also from Devon and Cornwall!”
The winner will receive the prize of an Apple iPad courtesy of DHL Envirosolutions. Please send your entries in over the July-August period with the competition closing at midday August 31 to news@letsrecycle.com with “Summer Selfie” in the title and please include the location and your contact details in the email. We will publish the pictures as they arrive over the coming weeks.
Rules
The rules of the competition are simple. 1. The photograph must be taken on a holiday and include the entrant or a family member with a recycling or waste feature. It can be as a selfie or a photo of you with the bins or trucks or other pose. 2. You can enter up to three pictures. 3. Pictures can be taken in the UK or overseas. 4. Photographs must be for holidays between July 21 – August 28 2015.
5. Photographs will be used on letsrecycle.com during the competition and in reports on it without payment of fees – copyright remains with the photographer. 6. When taking pictures, please be aware of health and safety considerations. 7. Letsrecycle and DHL Envirosolutions staff can enter, but not win. 8. The judges’ decisions are final.
