Oswestry Waste Paper is a family-run company which collects over 30,000 tonnes of waste paper and plastic per year for recycling throughout Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales and the West Midlands, operating a fleet of eleven vehicles.

Recycling UK trades all grades of recovered paper and plastic, selling them to paper mills and packaging producers in the UK, Europe and Asia. The company sold over 250,000 tonnes of material in 2011, giving it a net turnover of 28 million.
The company started trading in 1998 as Fibre Recycling UK Limited and changed its name to Recycling UK Limited in 2005.
Recycling UK managing director Neil Clarke, said: Although we are traditionally a trading company, in recent years we have seen a large growth in the source materials that we handle and we have tried to feed such into processors that we buy from throughout the UK and Ireland.
Oswestry Waste Paper is one such company that we have a long standing close relationship with which goes back many years. When Mrs Cheryl Davies decided to sell the company it seemed an ideal opportunity for us both. We are keen to keep the very professional business operating in the same manner, and with the regional branding intact.

Under the terms of the deal, Oswestry Waste Paper will continue to operate under its existing brand which was established by former owner Dave Davies in the 1960s. The company has been run by his wife Cheryl since Mr Davies passed away unexpectedly in early 2009.
Mrs Davies was keen to ensure that the identity of the company remained intact after any potential sale, and cited the good relationship the company had formed with Recycling UK as a deciding factor.
She said: After the tragic sudden death of my husband Dave in 2009 I have run the company with the help of my son Oliver, office manager Paula Carson, and all the other members of staff who have been a great help. Over the last year I felt I wanted to hand over the reins and no longer have all the responsibility of owning the company on my own.
There were a number of companies interested but my main aim was to ensure that whoever took on the company would protect the company name and ensure the business carried on trading here for many years to come.
