Recycle your bicycle, in Kent

Kent Council through its War on Waste Campaign is this week inviting residents to ‘Recycle your Bicycle’.

During what is half term week, residents are being told that they can donate bicycle and any cycling equipment at any one of eighteen Kent County Council Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Necessary Furniture, a local not-for-profit community project, will be undertaking the restoration of the bicycles and then selling them on to the public for as little as 20.00. All money raised will be put back into the community through the furniture project.

Belinda Cheriton, Kent’s Waste Reduction Officer leading the War on Waste Campaign said “This is a great opportunity for people in Kent to clear out their sheds and garages of old or unwanted bicycles, whilst at the same time helping a worthy charity and saving waste from going to landfill.”

The War on Waste Campaign promotes Waste Reduction, Re-use and Recycling in Kent.
