P&R Disposal Services acquires 2 million solvent recovery firm

Merseyside-based chemical disposal company P&R; Disposal Services has acquired Lancashire-based solvent recovery firm Distillex.

P&R; Disposal Services is part of P&R; Group, which also has chemical supplies and facilities management arms. Distillex will join the waste disposal arm of the group, increasing its annual turnover of 10 million by 2 million a year, and bringing expertise of solvent recycling – which P&R; is new to.

P&R; director Phil Orford said: “Our long term objective is to provide an ongoing development of services within legislative compliance, simultaneously working towards sustainable waste management. The solvent recovery and recycling services provided by Distillex will enable us to further meet our goals.”

Distillex will continue to operate under its existing name for the next 12 months. The Group intends to re-launch the merged businesses at the end of 2004, possibly under the name Sustainable Waste Management group, but they will continue to operate from separate sites.
