Larac set to appoint first administrative officer

Local government recycling organisation Larac is to appoint its first ever administrative officer on a two year contract. The aim of the appointment is to boost services to members including improving communications and other services.

Currently Larac, the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee, uses Waste Watch for some administrative work. However, this contract will end shortly and the new postholder, at a salary of 15,000-18,000 will take on the duties and, working from home, report to Larac chair Chris Davey of West Sussex County Council.

Funding for the job is expected to come from Larac’s external activities, including its annual conference, and its reserves. Membership fees are seen as low within local government circles at only 125 a year.

Applications should be sent to: Larac, PO Box 116, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 1XU
