Keenan Recycling made ‘trusted provider’ for NHS

Keenan Recycling has been accepted into the National Health Service (NHS) North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) Total Waste Management III framework.

The NOE CPC is a procurement consortium which provides various national services to NHS trusts and other public sector bodies.

It aims to make it easier for NHS trusts and related organisations to access waste management services.

Being given a spot on the framework declares the waste management company a “trusted provider” of food waste management services for the NHS.

Gary, UK sales manager at Keenan Recycling, and a key driver of this success, shared his excitement: “This is a game-changer for Keenan Recycling. Being accepted onto the NOE CPC framework allows us to extend our reach and impact across the healthcare sector, supporting NHS Trusts to meet their sustainability goals while ensuring compliance and high-quality service delivery. It’s another glass ceiling smashed, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team for making this happen.”

Keenan Recycling currently holds several contracts with the NHS. Most recently, it announced that it has secured a contract to provide food waste collection and recycling services to NHS Lanarkshire – said to be one of Scotland’s largest and most respected healthcare providers – in September last year.

The framework will allow Keenan Recycling to support NHS organisations including teaching hospitals and community healthcare providers.

The NOE CPC framework is accessible to both NHS organisations and the wider public sector.

It comes at a time that the healthcare sector is under increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices.

In October 2024, the secretary of state for health and social care Wes Streeting announced a new strategy to cut down on the number of single-use medical devices used by the NHS.
