Under the agreement, Kaizen Recycling will act as WeSort.AI’s official partner in both markets, providing application assessments, project coordination, implementation support and local customer services.
The partnership expands WeSort.AI’s presence into the British and Irish recycling sectors, where operators are facing increasing pressure to improve plant safety and operational efficiency.

WeSort.AI develops AI-powered object recognition systems for the recycling industry, using deep learning, advanced segmentation and X-ray analysis to identify materials and hazards within waste streams.
Its technology is already in use at facilities operated by Korn Recycling in Germany and PreZero International in Austria.
A key part of its portfolio is X.Sort, a front-end waste processing system designed to detect and remove lithium-ion batteries and other hazardous items from mixed waste streams.
The system combines X-ray scanning with AI recognition to identify materials through waste layers of up to 50cm, before ejecting them from the conveyor line.
Battery-related fires have become an increasing concern for waste operators, with industry bodies and insurers warning of the operational and financial risks linked to mismanaged lithium-ion batteries.

Kaizen Recycling said its role will focus on assessing where the technology can be integrated into existing plant layouts and identifying the most suitable waste streams for deployment.
The company has worked on waste processing optimisation and technology implementation projects across the UK and Ireland, supporting operators, integrators and plant owners.
