The company said this week that the BSI assessors noted that the system operated by Grosvenor was “excellent” and “clearly demonstrated continuous improvement.”

Grosvenor has been in the public eye following its mention in a BBC television programme last year regarding the export of recyclables. The company is a major contractor providing local authorities with sorting facilities for commingled waste, primarily through its site in Crayford, south east London.
Much of the paper, plastics and cardboard from the materials recycling facility is exported and the company said that it had passed recent Environment Agency accreditations under the Packaging Waste Regulations with “flying colours.”
The Environment Agency confirmed in December 2005 that the company's accreditation had been suspended the previous month (see letsrecycle.com story).
Scrutinised
Mary Corin, Grosvenor's director of recycling development, said: “Every aspect of the company’s operations has been scrutinised and all inspections have been passed. This is a clear signal that Grosvenor’s system is reliable, auditable and professional. As a major player in the recycling value chain, we supply quality raw materials that manufacturers can rely on.”
A statement from the company added that Grosvenor subjects material to input and output quality analysis to the highest level of detail. “This system allows the company to provide customers with value added performance management information, which supports the continuous improvement requirements of the Value Chain.”
The statement continued: “Grosvenor will be working with clients to develop and deliver quality improvement campaigns which focus on further improving the quality of the material arriving at the site.”
