The company said the move will strengthen its export capacity and create new commercial opportunities across the UK recycling sector.
The deal marks the latest stage in Global Ardour’s continued growth following its takeover of Recycling Lives’ scrap metal and car recycling businesses.
Metal recycler expands into Newport Dock
Adelphi’s Newport Dock site offers direct access to deep-sea shipping lanes, enabling the loading of 36,000-tonne-capacity vessels for large-scale exports.
This capability is expected to complement Global Ardour’s established domestic infrastructure by providing a new route to market for suppliers and automotive recyclers throughout the UK.
Operations at the site have already begun, with commercial and logistics development led by newly appointed Director Marc Robertson, working alongside Gareth Price, Philip Price and Craig Saunders.
Graeme Slater, Operations Director at Global Ardour Recycling: “We have the volume, and now we have the ability to move that volume more efficiently than ever before.
“The addition of Newport is a clear demonstration that we are serious about growth and long-term investment.
“It gives us wider export options, opens up new opportunities for collaboration with other companies, and shows the market that we are here to expand and innovate.”
‘Focused on new ventures’
Global Ardour Recycling said that further growth initiatives are already in the pipeline as the company continues to build its presence across the UK metals recycling market.
Managing Director Sanjay Singhal added: “This isn’t the end, it’s another step in a much bigger journey. We’re focused on new ventures, new technologies and increasing capacity for our suppliers. We want people to pick up the phone, talk to us, and see the opportunities ahead.”
The family-run business, formed following the 2024 acquisition of Recycling Lives’ assets by Global Metcorp and Ardour World, now operates 10 sites nationwide.
